Some streets in Venice, like the Rialto bridge, are always teeming with people, but step off the beaten track and you can be alone. Without cars it is a great place to wander, get lost, explore.

Oh Jasp!!! the drama of it makes me gasp. For a loner like me, this is a true Treasure The angles alone and the geometry would be spectacular on its own, but the overall presentation is...well, hell I can't think of a word
Yes, I found the same: there are only a few busy places, which should be avoided as much as possible. the rest is a fairytale. It is a pity so many of the original inhabitants have moved to the mainland.
