Cockatoo

Funny how one person's exotic pet is another person's local wildlife. This cockatoo was just sitting on a telegraph pole wire, ignoring people walking by on the path below.

I was going to crop the picture to the wires but that would have made the bird off centre so left it as taken, Ana is asking on her blog how others would have framed or focused the same subject so to crop or not to crop ?

I like it just as it is. That's something you don't see around here every day! :-)

Great catch Richard...either way I'm sure...Sometimes I prefer cropping because it highlights the subject better, but sometimes the transmission to blogger makes the photo look blurry or doesn't come across as well. So you know best!

Yep, those wild exotic birds are wonderful! Wish we had a few around my feeder.

No cropping needed in this shot, but I am not anti-cropping by any means.

I think this crop works with the shot.

no need to crop this one, that's for sure. there is nothing distracting about the framing, so it really works for me. I'm so amazed at the blue! wow! and the white isn't blown out. great shot. really. and yes, seeing one on a wire like this is crazy! here, they're all caged up!
